Grant merges his 20 year expertise of photography, technically accurate drawing skills and his mastery of varied art mediums to bring the passionate emotions that these exotic machines exude, to the surface of every sketch, painting and illustration.
His photography - art in of itself - is usually only the beginning, as the final work goes so far beyond what any lens and photo-software combination can produce.
Grant is an invited member of the Transportation Artists and Authors Guild and the Club Auto Artistes. His work has garnered him numerous awards from juried shows and exhibitions including the Automotive Journalists Associtiaon of Canada's "Art of the Automobile".
I use many different mediums, ink, watercolours, acrylics, oils.... My favourite is watercolours, sometimes with an ink drawing. I enjoy both studio work and plein aire sketching.
I have also used photography over my 30 years as an artist. Car events, automotive photoshoots, Car Club activities, etc. I am the club photographer for the Official DeLorean Owners Canada group.
I was employed for over 20 years as an ad designer and graphic designer/illustrator. I designed advertising for hundreds of small or medium businesses across Canada. Some of these also required a logo for their business, so I became adept at creating a fitting and stylish logo that complimeted their chosen field.
